Day 21 of 30: It's not a happy ending without a B&J

Dinner in Chinatown. I met up with my ladies Erin and Safia today after work at Lao Siam. Very highly Yelp rated and Safia approved. I got off the metro and head to my destination down the wrong street. What I unknowingly veered off into was no Epcot style Chinaville. Shady, filthy streets and endless groups of delinquents surely up to no good. Every one of them with something or some gesture for a single gal walking alone and clearly lost. I tried to hide it with my most believable bitch face at no avail.

After a good long while with my blood pumping I found the place. I give it a 6 out of 10 but I’m a terribly picky gal. I may have to work on that. The hardest pill for me to swallow is the horrendous service to be found on every corner of this town. I have a philosophy on restaurant experience and it has 70% to do with food and 30% ambiance and service. That leaves little room for a 10 in a place where there is no incentive for excellent service. No tips = No service.

Scrumptious split
From there to Indiana in the area of Republique. A place after my heart serving up cold water with ICE! Yes, ice is hard to come by. If that wasn’t enough they serve exclusively Ben and Jerry. God bless America and those handsome Vermont boys. We shared a banana split as I channeled my youth and country. Never felt closer from so far away to the good old US of A.
