Day 14 of 30: Parlez-vous...Vitamin C?

Today was a much more relaxing day than the rest. I knew this day would come. In my mind it was much scarier but to live a day in Paris without the expectation of a life changing adventure is not the end all be all. I crossed the line between starved site seeing tourist to an expat trying to live my day to day. Don’t tell the Frenchies. They still hate me.

It started with a stroll and lunch at the Monop’. All of the grocery stores here have a vast selection of healthy prepared foods, a bit like Whole Foods sans the grease. The smaller ones have sit in cafes. It’s nice to be able to buy prepared foods without guilt.

From there we head to Eleanor’s. She showed us her mid city flat under remodel. Then off for a quick drink on the Rue Montorgueil. Somehow I had not traversed this awesome street. It was full of life, cafĂ©’s packed restaurants and bakeries. Smack in the middle were some of the oldest restaurants in town. There are buildings here that are older than our own country. I highly recommend a visit.

Instead of taking the metro, we opted to walk home. The metro here is not all that inexpensive at about $6 a round trip. That’ll get you moving on your tootsies in a minute. Even with our French colds dying slowly at the hand of vitamin C, we chose the trek. Have you ever tried to explain to a pharmacist something you need in a foreign language? The desperation and patience is chilling. It’s no longer will I have red or white wine but can you or can you not cure me. I’m all of a sudden inspired to learn a word or two.

Well ladies and gents, I’m off to bed, the First time since arrival at a decent hour. Apparently my body is Miami to the core because the clock has yet to change.

Night…Night
