Day 16 of 30: If it weren't for cheap champagne, you'd be dead to me!

Do you know what it is to be located right smack in the heart of the city and hear crickets chirping at 2am? All the bars close at 2. Sure there are clubs 80% of which are gay and the rest will gladly charge you 20 euros for a drink. $30 DOLLARS!! Are they mad?? The lesson to be learned today is that there is no place like home. I’ve yet to discover a city that even comes close to the nightlife of Miami. We met a nice Brazilian par, brother and sister, who were feeling just as disappointed. The Parisian’s so desperately seek to not commingle with the American’s that they hide all of their late night parties. The one’s you do find are small, terribly small, obscure and not air conditioned. That does not count as good time in my book.

We plan to give it another go around tomorrow. Marine has invited us to the Buddha bar. We will report back upon further investigation. The good news is we were able to acquire 2 fantastic bottles of champagne at the low low price of $7 dollars at the local grocery. There is a silver lining to every dark cloud.
