Day 20 of 30: A french fry for my heart

Note to America. There are no Mexican’s here so DO NOT attempt to eat Mexican food. We gave it a shot today and I won’t even dare mention the name. We had the Chile con Queso which had no signs of queso and Poblano Steak. Neither dish came with tortillas, rice, salsa, guac…who does that? I’ve never longed for a TGIF more so in my life. We had a good experience at a taco bar last night called the Candelaria. Erin had the tacos and said they were fantastic but it’s my understanding from yelp and searches that this is a unicorn.

I get the French food. You’ve all heard how much we have enjoyed the bread and cheese.
MAGNIFICENT! Let us not forget Onion Soup. I get to say that since I’m here, love it!  French Onion Soup for my fellow off shore peops. By the way I’m happy to report that the blog is being read in 10 countries! But back to the grub…One cannot live on bread and cheese alone. Or can you? Gonna give it another go around and report back.

Erin and I must have been looking exceptionally hot today. We racked up:

3- Normal whistles
4- Honks
1- Shouting…”Mademoiseelllle” from their seat inside the restaurant
1- “Pomme Frit?” arm extended with a fistful of fries. My absolute favorite. Clever! How did you know?
1- Creepy lizard slurp whistle.
1- Arm grab as they repeated “Soooo Beautiful…sooo beautiful”
1- Something in French that had too many “F” sounds for my comfort
1- Something in French that sounded like “Chingnon” No clue.
1- Set of Russian dudes with instruments…”Hi…ummm, where are you going?”
1- “Mademoiselle” To which we replied “No French” They began shouting as we walked by “but I speak English!”
1- set of Parisian boys, chairs pulled out “Please, take a seat. Do you speak French?” us…”No. Sorry” them….High fives to each other. Clearly excited of their potential seat on the American gal easy train.

All this in a matter of 2 hours on a stroll through the St. Germain and the Latin Quarter. We made a mad dash home. Now safely in the comfort of our humble abode, we stand in awe of the diversity of come on’s. Gotta give them credit for ingenuity.
