Day 27 of 30: Working on my fitness?

Bright and early day that started with a walk to the metro to drop of my lady. Long sad walk all the while wondering what I will do with myself without her. Spoiled! Just spoiled with excellent company and wonderful memories. Hugs and kisses all around and I dashed. Can’t be sobbing like a baby in the subway. She wrote me a letter the night before and promised it was light. What a fib! I waited until I’d wiped away all my tears to open it to fall apart into yet another sobbing mess. Equally sad that she was gone and happy that she had enjoyed her time here as much as I had.

Then off to explore my neighborhood. I wandered street by street. This part of town (20th arrondissements) is full of Paris’s local working class. You couldn’t find a tourist if you tried. I try my best to not let on that I am intruding but I’m pretty sure it is quite obvious. I watched the shops open and get ready for a new day. What’s unique about here is that most of the storefronts are small and specialized. A bakery for bread, a fruit stand, cheese store, chocolate shop. At home, I think we consider this type of shopping a hassle but when they are close  together and countless one’s to consider it can be super easy and very special. You know you are getting the best of what each place has to offer. It may not be the cheapest but nothing is cheap here so it makes no difference.

After hitting up 4 different shops for my groceries, I head back to my casita to earn my keep. After work was done, I did a work out video in the living room. I’m not sure what percentage of people here go to the gym but it has to be very small (less than 5%) because I have yet to see one. I know they exist because I’ve been told they do but where are they? I may just have to visit one in the name of research. With all the walking, I feel okay but I wouldn’t mind a little back and bi’s beyond  a push up. It’s making me feel a bit lazy to not go but that may just be the American way talking.

Popped in The Darjeeling Limited. I highly recommend this super crazy and hilarious flick with Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzmann and mister heart throb himself Adrien Brody. Calling it an early night in hopes that I can explore as much as possible tomorrow.

Night…Night
